84. Toronto | Shangri-La Condo Hotel

Nice package delivered by courier to me this morning, from the most amazing building to be completed in Toronto in a few years...the Shangri-La!!!!!
It's sooooo luxurious..ahhhhhh ♥ Click on the link & go to their "residences" page. My next condo-dream is to own one of their private estates suites. Shangri-La was originally founded in Hong Kong, which is probably another reason why I love their hotels so much.

They sent me these things..a large coffeetable book about the building & a novel called Lost Horizon (the name "Shangri La" originated from this book). A few people I know have told me they were thinking of getting a place here..which is the reason why I've spent the past few days glued on their website/dreaming about this building. Gosh I want to live here so badly.

Condo-Hotels are the new trend right now. I wish they wouldn't build so many though..makes my place less special. My building is the first "condo-hotel" in Toronto I think.
All the new ones are really luxurious..like the Trump Tower, Ritz-Carlton, 1 Bloor..ah I want a suite in all of them. If I ever become a billionaire, I would collect properties. But obviously in more exciting cities around the world.

83. Produced and bottled in 17610

Once again, I had a crazy night last night. Drank at our lobby bar with _____, then went out behind our building to the courtyard (aka Commerce Court) where the big fountain is, where there was a couple there taking tourist shots with their cameras. Then ____ got the woman to take all these shots of us with her pro DSLR camera, as he kissed me by the elephant statues..hahah. I felt like I was being paparazzi-ed. Wouldn't it be fun if those shots ended up in the tabloids..
Oh and ____ was wearing my Russian hat the whole time..I gotta say he looked pretty good in it.

MOAR HPNOTIQ..with Mr. Pink Tie
Today at the bar I also talked to a man I'll call S. I met him last week and he's really nice. We talked for a long time about real estate. He told me he owns a lot of properties and rents them out/uses them to generate income..so it's like his full-time job. When my family got the new condo I actually thought about doing this someday too. There's just something about owning multiple properties that's so appealing. Well I think part of the reason why I want to do this is also because I've been meeting all these businessmen lately who have places all over the world. Living in this building and meeting all these men in suits is really motivating me for the future.
Dear Future (40-ish year old) Me: I hope you remembered this childhood dream and have at least 5 properties around the world already. Obviously one in Paris, one in Switzerland (for retirement) and the rest..surprise me. Maybe even a yacht-home.

Funny how I use a new drink photo to divide each topic. Anyway. There's some "new characters of 1 King West" I met these past few days I still have to write about. Tonight was pretty eventful..met a Texan businessman and another trucker all the way from YUKON!!
At around 2am, I was still down there with this guy I just met yesterday named Mark (he's the same age as me & lives at my building too). Mark: I know you're probably gonna be reading this so I'm not giving you a lame nickname. Then the fire alarm suddenly came on. The fire alarm comes on quite often in my building but this was the first time I was downstairs when it happened. It was interesting to witness all the action from down there - firemen running in with their hoses, people screaming and running out in their PJs, hands in the air. ok I may be exaggerating. It's 4am right now and I gotta wake up soon so gute nacht.

82. Canoe | Oliver & Bonacini

Canoe by Oliver & Bonacini is hailed as one of the best restaurants in Toronto. Some friends & I went to go try it out recently. I absolutely LOVE the view and atmosphere here - it is located on the top floor (54th) of TD Centre, right in the middle of the Financial District. Without a doubt, my favourite in Toronto. Perfect place to go to impress a date or to celebrate an anniversary.

Unfortunately I only brought along my cell phone as a photo-taking device so hopefully these bad-quality photos are enough to tide you over until I come here again with a proper camera.

We had the best table on the corner and stayed here throughout the sunset. Quite romantic. Oh & the food..absolutely delicious. I'm not sure if they have an official dress code but everyone here was dressed up, with most of the men in suits.

81. Just keep it in its box

So many good things happening in life these days, meeting a lot of new people, going out a lot, drinking a bit too much Hpnotiq, the usual. There's so much funny "drama" going on in life lately. It was fun at first but now it's getting a bit tiring so for the next week or so, I'm gonna try to avoid certain people who need a "cooling off period".

My friends & I recently went to the beach. I hate Toronto beaches. Too dirty and so many dangerous sharp things hidden in the sand.

Hpnotiq #1, #2, & #3. *not pictured: #4, #5, #6...you get the idea*
That night I was drinking with ____ in our 1 King West lobby where my night started getting a bit crazier (of course).
Edited: The super long entry I wrote here previously has been deleted. I'm too paranoid about the wrong people finding my blog! All I will say is: life seems more and more like a movie these days. The good kind of course.

Another night, my friend Chris & I were drinking in my lobby when we met this crazy Russian guy. At first I thought this Russian was extremely cool as I love everything Russian, he was all artsy, and wore Alexander McQueen shoes. Lesson learned: don't judge a guy by their shoes!!

We were all on the couches and the lobby started clearing out. It was past 2am and the Russian kept talking and talking to us. He kept asking us to go to his condo for drinks (like a block away from mine/where we were) Suddenly my friend Chris goes outside to make a call. Awhile later my phone rings & it's Chris telling me the guy is really crazy and won't leave until he could convince us to go back to his place. So I got slightly scared. Chris comes back in and makes an excuse that he has to go upstairs for something when he's really going to my floor to wait for me. I talked to the Russian guy for about 10 more minutes when suddenly he asks me to stand up and see if I can walk in my 5 inch heels. He takes my wrist and tells me to go to a really cool club with him. I just said no and that I was tired so I start walking to the elevators..he follows me and blocks my way. It was almost 3am so the lobby was pretty empty and I didn't know what to do. I think this guy thought I was really drunk and that I would be easy because it seemed like someone pressuring me to take drugs lol (like he was saying how "funky and cool" this place was and I'll really like it). He started to get really pushy and finally one of the reception table guys walk by and I told him to make sure Russian guy doesn't follow me up. So finally I make it to the elevators and onto my floor alive, to find Chris waiting there. We talked for a bit until he left to catch the sunrise.
