426. Beijing | Snapshots

Tianamen Square at night Beijing
I obviously shouldn't have said I'll be doing daily posts when I was on vacation..as that didn't happen at all! I can't believe I only managed to post one up from the entire time I was there. Well, it was mainly because my blog was not accessible from Beijing, and I literally had NO TIME at all to blog. But I will start now, and now that I have slightly more time..I can properly edit all the photos before posting them. Some of them are probably over-edited as I had a little too much fun with the editing program..

I will start with these random shots from Beijing. I'm going to also do separate posts of all the places we went. This post is just a random kind of summary post of things we did and saw.

By the way - I got back to Toronto about 2 nights ago. My trip flew by so fast. I wish we were able to spend more time there but we weren't able to go for longer than 2 weeks this time. Beijing was a lot of fun. I was able to cross a couple things off my bucket list (like going on the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square) but I think rural China is more of a unique travel experience..when I was here I didn't feel as amazed by everything as I did in 2009 when I went to Guilin/Yangshuo. But I still had a great time. The weather was perfect the several days we were there though which I didn't expect in Beijing.

(Doesn't that look like an old photograph?) This was my first rickshaw ride ever..it was so much fun!! Definitely a lot more fun than I expected a rickshaw ride can be lol. Our driver/biker (?) guy kept trying to go faster than everyone else in front of him..so whenever there was space on the side he'd go really fast and try to overtake the others. He managed to do this a couple times. The ride was pretty bumpy and I thought we'd crash or topple over a few times.

  1. Love your pics! I wonder when I will ever visit Beijing... I was a bit put off by my Shanghai experience but now I'm open again to the idea of visiting China.
