Damier Azur Keepall at Second Cup
Hello. Today is "back to school" for everyone still in school, and for the first time I'm not one of them! yay! (I've graduated this year for those who are new to my blog) Life has been quite uneventful though. Ever since I came back from my Eurotrip I've been trying to decide what I want to do in life. It's stressing me out, and the longer I'm not doing anything the more I feel like I'm wasting time. Even though I'm not doing anything, I can't even relax. To be honest I think I just feel pressured to feel guilty because in society it's looked upon as just being lazy. I want to do so many things but they are a bit hard to achieve right now, though I don't want to settle for anything less. So I have been doing a lot of planning for what the next step will be.
Last week I went for drinks with a friend I hadn't seen in awhile. I told him I felt like I was going through my "mid-life crisis" at 22 years of age as he burst out laughing. Understandably..as I know I'm just a bit extreme hahah.
I just want to travel again, and keep moving around from city to city every 6 months. I don't like falling into the same routine and the same life in one place for too long, because then it feels like a trap restricting you from pursuing your true passions. I also want to spend an entire year painting/doing art in a high-ceilinged-exposed-brick hard loft. That is one of the things on my bucket list. Anyway enough rambling. Some random photos taken from the past few weeks:

white cupcakes
chocolate cupcakes
louis vuitton windows
animal skull
russian naval hat
toronto skyline
Webers burgers
Webers burgers
Pomeranian
Feather vest and Y-Mail
Toronto harbourfront
ship
CNE
Canadian National Exhibition
cne bacon nation
cne food
A few examples of the artery-cloggers you can find at CNE. There's also others like deep-fried Mars bars, deep-fried oreo cookies, deep-fried cheesecakes, deep-friend coke, Krispy Kreme burgers, bacon & nutella cones, eclair hot dogs, etc. I usually try to steer clear..CNE food is literally like a heart attack waiting to happen.

  5. Could your pictures be more delicous? I love them.
I had the same problem than you. I finished high school and then I didn't know what to do, I wasn't sure about what to study so I took a Photography course and when I finished I was again feeling guilty for not doing anything while my friends were all at college.
The following year I went to college but I didnt like the degree I chose, so I tried with another and it happened again, so I stopped and started to work to save up money to travel. I went to Europe and lived half year in Sweden and found out that that was the place of my dreams. I came back this year and Im doing a Professional Makeup Artist course that lasts a year, by the end of this year I will be done with it and after that Im going to live to Sweden for many years, hopefully studying Makeup there too and becoming a famous make up artist in europe or having my own brand. Maybe it sounds too risky but it's what makes me happy and I dont feel bored ( I hate routine)
Do what you heart tells you, don't start studying if your not sure about the degree, travel as much as you can!!!

    Love xx

    1. First of all - I LOVE Sweden!! I wouldn't mind living there for a few years too.
Thanks so much for your comment.
I just finished studying for a degree in fashion, and realized it's not what I really want to do. I love fashion but not as a career. I really want to do something like you did as well..to live a few years in Europe to figure it out. Taking risks is good while we're still young, it's important to experience as much of the world as possible.

    1. Thanks Tammy - that's why I dread getting a proper job, because then I won't have much time for anything. 2 weeks of vacation time in a conventional job is nothing!! But I know if I really love what I do, it won't feel like work. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to get one of those jobs, as most people I know don't like what they're doing..
hahah pffttt 27 is still young!

  7. The burgers look delicious! Regarding your mid-life crisis: "knowing" you through your blog, I'd say that you pretty much know what you want and that's already very good (because most people don't). Now it's just a question of making it happen. And I'm sure you will! Believe me, eventually it will all come together.

  16. Right after I graduated from college, I worked in a law firm where I made decent money but had zero time to spend any of it. By the end of it, I was so burnt out and jaded by corporate jobs that I spent the following years after it more or less drifting around and spending all the money I earned at the law firm. Retrospectively, I wish I had someone who had told me to just do whatever I want without being overly concerned about money. I don't know why I thought that I had to earn x amount of dollars at that age, ad it's not like I didn't have a nice cushion to fall upon had I decided to follow a more creative but less lucrative path.

    1. Thanks for this comment. I think part (or most) of it has to do with societal/parental pressures - recent graduates feel like they should jump right into a job, and take whichever one they can get (bonus if it pays well) rather than do something they have a genuine interest in; usually the riskier path that takes longer. Obviously not every case is like this but it's common..I think you'd have to be very lucky to easily and quickly land a job you love

  17. When you finally move to Paris let me bunk off you for a while mmmm? LOL The cupcakes look great but was it icing overload? Most of the time I often find cupcakes with too much icing on the top, sometimes I wish they made it more like a cake style, layer the icing in-between and thin it out, then again I rarely bake and when I do it's with cake mix ahahaha (the add milk and shake it up ones LOL)

I know you're strong enough to get through this midlife crisis =) There might be more ahead of you hahaha jkjk but I think what you said above, about traveling and staying in an area for 6 months sounds like a great plan and would be phenomenal if you could pull it through! I'll live vicariously through you haha

Looks like you had a great few weeks! Was that a dinner cruise you went on? We have some of them here in Vancouver but I've never been on one, seems sorta cheesy haha

    1. For suuuure..let's hope that happens soon then! hahah
I didn't buy any of the cupcakes (I don't like them that much)..I just went in the shop to take some photos. I think I'd prefer them cake style too
      thanks so much!
no it wasn't a dinner cruise lol..that place was on land ;]
we were just walking by the harbour in the middle of the night..then it suddenly started POURING RAIN so we ran under the covered patio area for awhile

  22. I absolutely understand the feeling of having free time. I've recently graduated as well and now that I have all this time to figure it all out, sometimes I feel like I don't know what to do with myself. Scary, but once I take a deep breath and realize that all my hard work has finally paid off and to just embrace the luxuries of time and freedom, my creativity really explodes because WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT NOW. =D it's an amazing feeling. I love the black dress btw, been trying to find one like it! Keep up the great blog!

  29. agree to everything you say! i hate being stuck in Athens for too long and I m really hating my current job which doesn't express my passions at all. And one of my dreams is also to paint in a high ceiling brick loft! That has been a dream for ages, that urge to feel the freedom of expressing yourself. Wish you all the best with your life planning xoxo ES
