799. Bangkok Part 5 | Exploring our Neighbourhood

We've been out of quarantine for a few days now and I finally have a bit of time to update! We've had quite an eventful few days (probably a combination of being stuck inside for so long plus there's sooo much to do and see in Bangkok) - we explored our neighbourhood a bit (Bang Rak), visited Iconsiam mall, visited Chatuchak market, visited Asiatique, visited Chinatown, and walked around a lot. We are loving the city so far and having an amazing time. The weather here is extremely hot but its bearable/I am slowly getting used to it. I really love the street food culture and the shopping! Everything is so cheap. The Thai people are also extremely friendly.

The photo above is the view from our place. I really love it. We are staying at State Tower which is the building where the movie Hangover was filmed. There is an amazing rooftop bar/restaurant which I'm excited to check out.

This congee place (Jok Prince) is really good! It's located right behind our building. We came a couple times for breakfast already. They have been in the Michelin guide for many years and is really inexpensive (like $2-3 a bowl)

732. Christmas Part 2 | Archlight & George

My last post of 2019! Tomorrow is already NYE. We are staying in Toronto for it this year and don't have any plans yet. It's pretty crazy to think that it's the start of a new decade. & it will have been roughly 12 years since I started this blog (sometime in 2008).

I am not sure how many original readers I still have now but back then, I mainly started blogging when I moved out of my parents' house into my own place downtown. I started university (studying Fashion at Ryerson) and had a lot of experiences (and people) to blog about. I can't believe I'm still blogging now..although not as frequently. I will likely continue for an indefinite amount of time since I always enjoy reading back in old posts for the memories.

For 2020 I hope I can become better organized, better at prioritizing and accomplish some things that I keep putting off doing.

Anyways! Here is Christmas Part 2. There will also be a part 3 but I'll save it for the following post.

My Christmas gift from my boyfriend..the Louis Vuitton Archlight sneakers! I really love them! I'm not a huge fan of the super chunky sneakers trend (like the Balenciaga or Gucci ones) but these ones are my favourite. I feel they could still be in style after the trend dies. Let's see how long I am able to keep them nice and white.



As for my Christmas gift to my boyfriend this year, I decided to do a 10 Days of Christmas gift-giving (which I mentioned in my previous post). There were ten gifts over ten days including some smaller bonus items. For one of them I took him for dinner at George Restaurant. We did the tasting menu. I love coming here for the tasting menu because it's all a surprise. You each get different dishes (which is good for switching/tasting a bit of everything!):

656. Eurotrip Day 1 of 28 | Arriving in London!

Hello from London! It's currently 1:30am here. We arrived in London early "yesterday" morning. We flew from Toronto Pearson Airport to London Gatwick (which is very inconvenient I now realize). From there we took the Gatwick Express into the city and then a cab to my hotel. We were both so exhausted by the time we arrived with jetlag and all.
My boyfriend stayed here most of the day then flew to Spain. I am always used to travelling/exploring alone and love it, but now that he's gone I feel a strange sense of loneliness lol. I guess this is a good thing though. I'll be going later this week to meet him again..then we will continue our month-long trip around several countries in Europe. So excited!! Besides Hong Kong, London is the city I've travelled/spent the most time in. So coming back I got a feeling of familiarity. All the other cities on this trip will be ones I'm visiting for the first time ever though.

Coincidentally my friend Anouk is also in London these few days so we will be meeting up again. Every time we meet up it's in a different city. One of these days I'll actually make it to Luxembourg..hahah.

I'm going to try my best to do these daily blog posts again, or at least every other day. I really enjoy doing them when I travel, looking back and writing about the day to look back on in the future. I am working the same as I do in Toronto though (I work online/remotely) so I am still going to be pretty busy. Hopefully I will have a bit of time at the end of every night to do this. I will post a maximum of 10 photos per day then the rest I'll post when I get back to Toronto. Which - as you may know with my Asia blog posts - will be quite a lengthy process.


It was my first time flying with British Airways. Overall the flight was pretty good. Just the air in the cabin was super dry. I managed to sleep a little which I *never* usually do on flights.


I'm staying near Oxford Circus this time. After checking in to the hotel we took a nap for awhile then went out in search of food. Since we were so hungry we kind of chose the first decent one we saw. We ended up at Bodean's BBQ which turned out to be very good.




If you know me, you'll know that flat shoes/sneakers are extremely rare for me to buy. I decided to buy a new pair for this trip so I got these Puma ones. I really love the colour. They match my socks colour pretty well too hahah.

654. Recent Life

My new shoes! They are designed by Issey Miyake for United Nude. I always have a lot of trouble finding clothes and shoes that I like enough to buy. Most things I own are things that I saw and fell in love with (a lot) at first sight. That was the case with these. They're the perfect colour for summer and pretty comfortable to walk in actually.

While walking back from dinner one night, we found a cute baby raccoon on the street. Despite living in Toronto all my life I don't think I've ever seen a raccoon on the streets before (apparently our city has a lot). He seemed to really love my boyfriend and kept following him lol.



Dinner one night at Mira, a fairly new Peruvian restaurant. It was my first time having Peruvian food. We both really loved it. Everything we ordered was delicious. I especially love the ceviche sampler and the squid ink rice.





Dessert was a big chocolate ball filled with coffee ice cream, chocolate ranfañote, honey comb, yuzu marmalade & raspberry.

Another really delicious dinner at Akira Back. Everything we ordered was really good as well. My favourites were the wagyu tacos and tuna pizza. It seems to be two of their most popular menu items:







The restaurant is inside Bisha Hotel, so we had some drinks at their lounge afterwards.
