I stayed at Hotel Königshof for three nights when I visited Munich. It's a luxury hotel located right in the heart of Munich. I had a great experience here and it was definitely one of the best hotels from my entire trip. The service, room, location, amenities, food and bar was excellent! The hotel is extremely luxurious. I have no complaints and would highly recommend it.


The welcome chocolates



I had one of the Deluxe rooms. It was quite large, very clean and beautifully furnished. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate but I loved finding truffles on the pillows every night after coming back to the hotel. The room comes with free satellite TV and Wi-Fi (with a good/fast connection; one of the most important things for me in a hotel room). If city noise is a problem for you, the windows here are all sound-proof.



From past experiences I realized the toiletries/personal care items that come with each hotel washroom are small but significant factors that influence my opinion of a hotel. The washroom here came with pretty much everything I needed and more. Bathrobes and slippers were complimentary, there were lots of (monogrammed) towels, heated towel racks and a wide range of Etro products - including what you see in the photo + shower cap, soap, body lotion, sewing kit, shoe polisher, comb, etc..



My absolute favourite thing about this hotel was the breakfast. It was included in my room rate but by itself, it costs about €30/$38 which I think is well worth it. There's a wide selection of delicious food from the buffet, and there's also a lot of things on their a-la-carte menu you can order, which is also included in the price. Breakfasts are one of my favourite parts of any vacation and hotel stay. So naturally, a good hotel buffet breakfast is very important for a memorable hotel experience. I probably would think twice about returning to a hotel if I didn't enjoy their breakfast.

I didn't get a chance to try it but if you're ever staying at this hotel or in Munich, you might want to try Königshof Restaurant, their Michelin Star restaurant. (& 18 Gault Millau points!)


Here's their bar. I came here one night for a bellini. The service was really good and I loved the atmosphere. It was really relaxing and the perfect place to have a nightcap.

All in all, it was a great hotel and I highly recommend it if you are visiting Munich.

Location: very centrally located; right on Karlsplatz/Stachus Square, a few minutes walk from the main pedestrian street, about 10 minutes walk from Marienplatz, a few minutes from the main train station, and right above Karlsplatz metro station.

Hotel Königshof is owned by Geisel Privathotels, whose other hotels (also located in Munich) include Hotel Excelsior, Cosmopolitan Hotel as well as Anna Hotel. It is considered a Leading Hotel of the World.

253. Prague | Random Thoughts

Quick post of random photos from Prague. Besides all the regular tourist attractions, wandering around the Old Town all day, trying to keep my balance on the deadly cobblestone streets in 5-inch heels, here's some other memorable things in the city:

The Jewel Hotel (pic 1 & 2): I stayed here for three nights. This is a small boutique hotel with only 11 rooms. It was my favourite hotel out of all the others on this trip! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Prague. I'll do a full review of it on a later post. 

Breakfasts (pic 3): breakfasts are always my favourite part of any vacation, especially the hotel buffet breakfasts. Even though on some mornings I wasn't able to wake up in time to eat it. The Jewel Hotel was great because they would even serve me breakfast at like 2pm lol. & it was a really good breakfast. I'm trying to take advantage of my jet lag back in Toronto by waking up earlier so I can go out for good breakfasts..but unfortunately I still haven't found a good breakfast place here.

Gelato (pic 4): I ate so much gelato on this trip! Especially in Prague. There were gelato shops everywhere and it was so cheap - around 20czk which is about $1 each. My favourite was Tiramisu. 

Souvenirs (pic 6 & 7): I bought so many souvenirs in Prague, including what you see in the 2nd & 3rd last pics. Souvenir shopping was pretty fun because I met so many of the shop people. I'm not sure why they all liked to talk to me. I probably spent half an hour in each of the stores..

Being my second favourite city of this Eurotrip, there was a lot more about Prague that I liked. But sometimes I think it's better to keep some memories just for myself..but the rest will be in my upcoming posts ;]

252. Fontaine des Mers

Paris has been everything I expected and more. I'll definitely miss it until I'm back again.
In the beginning, I wasn't even planning on coming to Paris on this trip. I've been here before and I always thought it's the type of city where you should be with a significant other. Now I'm extremely glad I came by myself, because I met so many new people/friends here. Now I want to move here more than ever. I can't say this about the other cities but in Paris, I love every single area and neighbourhood. I was here the longest, stayed out really late every night, but still didn't have time to visit every place I wanted to go. I was seriously so sad to leave this morning! (I'm currently in London again)
Paris has been more fun than all the other cities I've visited combined. & of course, Prague was my 2nd favourite heheh..both these cities are really "magical" & I think I will try to return again sometime this Fall.

Unfortunately I will be back in Toronto soon, where I will sink into a couple weeks of post-vacation depression..but luckily for you, that means I'll be making proper travel posts a lot more frequently. :]
