785. Morocco Part 12 | Fes Medina

Fes Medina gate
Our time in Fes is quickly coming to an end..so I am rushing to post the rest of my photos. We decided to go to Rabat next, which is the capital city of Morocco. It's 2 hours away from Fes, has a population of merely 580k and not a very popular destination at all it seems. It is along the coast and looks beautiful in photos.

So I always try to look at the positive side of any situation. I thought that travelling during the pandemic would be a "once in a lifetime experience" and it would be interesting to experience it and document it here (just to clarify - we did not choose to travel "because of" the pandemic lol..moreso a situation that coincided with this time). It makes us visit places we likely would've not chosen since our choices are restricted to what's possible at the time with travel restrictions. I've always wanted to visit Morocco but Azores and Canary Islands were never near the top of my list. I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit them and staying long term is a very different experience. It's nice to be able to relax and not feel rushed to see everything. Before deciding on Rabat, we considered Egypt, UAE/Dubai, Turkey etc but unfortunately it doesn't seem like a good time to go to those places now.

Anyways, here is yet another post of the Fes old medina. I feel that no matter how many photos I share, it still doesn't capture the true essence of the place. Well the only way for you to really know is to be there in person. Most areas are too hectic for me to take photos of (and those are the areas I enjoy seeing the most).
