790. Morocco Part 17 | Exploring Kasbah des Oudayas
Last week we visited the Kasbah des Oudayas here in Rabat, which is a beautiful residential area set inside a fortress. It was painted mostly in blue, which reminded me a lot of Chefchaouen. I really enjoyed it but the overall experience was tainted by one of those unofficial "guides" (quite popular in Morocco unfortunately). There were a ton of them in the Fes medina but here in Rabat, we managed to avoid them until now. They target tourists, especially those who look lost, and start chatting and bringing you to your destination. Then they demand a high fee for their services. They are very persistent too. I would like to explore the Kasbah again on our own but I'm afraid to go back and see him as he was not happy with what we ended up paying him lol (even though we didn't even want him as a guide in the first place).
