810. Bangkok Part 15 | Iconsiam

From now on I must finish all the blog posts of the city while I'm still there, otherwise I get way too behind like I am now! I have been so busy lately though. I have 6 more Bangkok posts left after this one. Now we've been in Koh Samui for a week already. I'm thinking I should start alternating the posts..

So here is the second part of Iconsiam (first part here). It is my favourite mall I've ever visited. In my first post it was the first few floors and outdoor area so this post will be the upper floors and also the movie theatre (where we went twice on back to back nights!). The mall is huge.

Iconsiam I forgot the name of this store but from here there's an entrance to the outdoor terrace:

They have a lot of unique drinks here (including alcoholic cocktails) and also these ones exclusive to Iconsiam. We ordered these two - the Lychee Earl Grey and Peach Mojito. They were actually soooo good. We had them on the outdoor terrace which felt more like a chic lounge than a Starbucks.

During our last nights in Bangkok, we decided to check out the movie theatre since we haven't experienced one in such a long time (since before COVID). The theatre is also inside the mall by the way..and it's huge! It seemed quite new and very clean.

So we watched this a couple weeks go/in April 2021 but I believe the original movie release date was supposed to be August 2020. It got pushed back due to COVID. I wonder how everything is scheduled now in the movie world, because most cities don't have movie theatres open yet. For example with this one, I wonder when this theatre started playing it and when they will stop it..and if this movie is also playing in other cities around the world now (those with theatres open). It was interesting that we also got movie previews for movies that were supposed to come out last year (but in the previews it still said "coming soon" or "coming June 2020").

The night after, we went back to watch Mortal Kombat in 4DX. I've never watched a movie in 4DX before. It was pretty cool. The chairs shook a lot (felt like turbulence on the plane) and sometimes they release wind, smoke, lightning, scents into the air. It was a fun experience which made up for the movie being not as interesting.

I really enjoyed the movie nights. It was actually fun to go to the theatres after not doing so for such a long time. It made me realize how much I missed doing certain things that were only possible in pre-covid times.
