833. Zagreb Part 2 | Last Day & Museum of Broken Relationships

Another month has flown by and already our time in Croatia is coming to an end. Tomorrow we will leave for Spain (to my boyfriend's hometown of La Coruna). This month went by really fast. I guess because we were quite busy here and managed to take a few staycations away (Rovinj, Split, Dubrovnik, Mostar, Plitvice..all of which I will post about eventually lol). I really enjoyed Zagreb more than I thought I would and will miss it. I admit that before we came, I thought it would kind of a boring city. It was good to have our base here. I really enjoyed Croatia overall and the side trips were a lot of fun. We also got pretty nice weather. So next month we will be in Spain and going to do a side trip to Luxembourg to visit my friend which I'm very excited about!

Zagreb has a lot of quirky museums. The most famous is the Museum of Broken Relationships. It was so packed when we went there on a random Monday. It's such a unique concept and at first I was sceptical about it but I actually really enjoyed it. The museum displays various items sent in by people who have experienced a broken relationship - items from the relationship that they kept. Each piece is accompanied by a short story about it. Mostly they are romantic relationships but there's a section for family broken relationships (death). Some stories were funny and some were sad.

This is a set of mini furniture sent in from a girl in Korea. Her and her boyfriend would imagine the kind of house they would have in the future and made mini furniture pieces. Unfortunately they broke up before getting a chance to paint them.

There's a lot more objects but I won't post them all. I highly recommend a visit if you're ever in Zagreb!
