736. La Coruna in November | Part 2

Tower of Hercules La Coruna
Finally after months of delay..here is my final post of my November Edinburgh & La Coruna trip! I'm thinking now that I've completed all the "recent" vacation posts maybe I can go back and finish the leftover Asia posts from years ago hahah. I still want to post them all eventually as I don't like having things undone. No matter how long its been. Since the current coronavirus has delayed our travel plans (we were originally planning to visit China in April)..I can now have a bit of time to catch up on travel posts.

Above is the Tower of Hercules, an ancient Roman lighthouse in La Coruna. It's the oldest of its kind still in use today.

692. Recent Life

Here is a long overdue "Recent Life" post! The first one since coming back from vacation in the beginning of January. Mostly containing food photos at restaurants (as always). In the photo above is my boyfriend and I, 3-D printed. We got it done for Christmas. It turned out better and more realistic than I thought it would.

madeleines
I've been getting back into baking lately. Made madeleines for the first time and really loved them. I know they are not in the traditional madeleine shape but the recipe/taste is. Also tried a matcha version:

686. Exploring Madrid

Madrid Christmas tree
I am a few days behind - we are currently in Amsterdam as I make this post. On Christmas Day, I suddenly became sick. Unfortunately now my boyfriend caught it too and is sleeping early, so I have some time to update this lol.

After my previous post, we left La Coruna on an overnight train to Madrid. The train ride was horrible for me thanks to my extreme coughing and difficulty to sleep. After what felt like the longest 11 hours of the trip so far, we arrived in Madrid bright and early in the morning.

We checked into our hotel, had breakfast then walked around the city for a few hours to explore the main sites. It was my first time in Madrid and I really loved it! I think I enjoyed it more than Barcelona. The city was really festive and there is a lot to explore. We only had two days here which wasn't nearly enough.

Here are some photos of the first day:

A really cool food market. Everything is gourmet and looked delicious. It was super busy though.
