Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation and Artist Rouge Lipstick

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge lipstick

Make Up For Ever recently released their new lines of foundation and lipstick: the Water Blend Foundation and Artist Rouge Lipstick. They kindly sent a couple of different shades from each collection to try out. I always love Make Up For Ever's products. I have quite sensitive skin but their products always work well for me. The foundation is very lightweight and doesn't dry out my skin. It also has good coverage. The lipstick is long-lasting, moisturizing and has a nice scent.

Water Blend Foundation ($54 @ Sephora) is a collection of 20 long-lasting, waterproof, transfer-proof water based foundations. It has a unique water-gel texture to offer a smooth and light finish for flawless, long-lasting wear. It provides a dewy finish in a lightweight, sheer and buildable formula. The foundations are made with 80% pro-vitamin B5 infused water so your skin will stay hydrated and moisturized. It is also easy to apply and spreads comfortably.

Artist Rouge Lipstick ($27 @ Sephora) is a collection of 45 bold, intense shades designed to transform your lips. The collection includes velvety matte and lustrous cream finishes, ranging from classic to more vibrant and fashion-forward shades. The lipsticks offer spectacular wear with a non-drying, nourishing feel. The shades are highly-pigmented (the brightest and strongest colour expression yet from Make Up For Ever), making them extremely long-wearing. The cream ones can last up to 8 hours and the matte for up to 10 hours. The tear drop shaped tip is designed for extreme precision application. This new line was launched in collaboration with Icona Pop, the Swedish electro-pop duo.

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow Pencil

MUFE Pro Sculpting Brow Pencil
A few weeks ago, I received the new Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow Pencil. It is part of Make Up For Ever's new Pro Sculpting Collection. This range takes contouring to the next level with easy to use pro tools and techniques, to shape your face with lights and shadows. The collection includes four pro sculpting face palettes, five pro sculpting brow pencils and four pro sculpting lip tools. Each product is designed to define and enhance your natural beauty. They kindly offered to send me something from the collection to try. I chose the 3-in-1 brow pencil since I never used to do my brows and had been wanting to start. I received #30/Brown.

The brow pencil is a 3-in-1 tool that works to define, contour and highlight your brows for a perfectly sculpted and transformed look using 3 easy steps:

1. Slanted edge - use to colour in and define the brows
2. Brush - use to comb and sculpt the brows
3. Sponge tip - use to highlight and add natural light for perfectly sculpted brows

It is my first brow pencil and I'm very happy with it. It is very easy to use and I love that it still keeps my brows natural looking. It has the glide-on precision of a pencil, with the natural looking effect of a powder so it will not give your brows the very unnatural look.

460. Recent Life

Toronto lights
I seem to be doing better with updating my blog this week. I finally have all my Christmas shopping done (I think). This year I put the most effort and spent the most on gifts for everyone. I didn't have that many people to shop for, but for each person I got like 2-3 things. & wrapping each gift is also a huge task. I wish I could post everything on here but I can't risk them seeing!

For this upcoming year I want to get back into blogging more, and I'm also working on a new travel website/blog. I had everything set up last year (2014) and registered the domain for 3 years (so it expires in 2017). But I never ended up doing anything for it..besides 2 test posts lol. So now I'm getting back into it and I actually really enjoy it. I will reveal it maybe in a month or so when I have it officially launched.

Lastly I need to get a custom logo/header designed for this blog! I think I may try out 99 Designs for that. Will start working on that this week.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation Review

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation
Make Up For Ever has long been known for their innovative HD liquid foundations, making them the go-to brand for professionals in the film and television industry. Their formulas make skin look flawless and natural both on and off camera. The brand continuously redefines and elevates beauty standards, most recently with the Ultra HD Foundation. This advanced formula foundation was created for the new era in technology. It looks invisible to the 4K camera and to the naked eye, feeling and looking like a second skin when applied.

With 4K technology displaying images with unbelievable detail, stunning clarity and heightened colour...Make Up For Ever has created the Ultra HD Foundation to meet the demands of 4K technology. Make Up For Ever's Ultra HD Foundation will give you a flawless complexion, excellent coverage, and long-lasting wear while maintaining the natural look of your skin. The oil-free foundation is available in 40 different shades to match all skin tones.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

My Review: I received a set of 3 of these foundations a bit more than a month ago. I've been alternating between using them and my usual liquid foundation. Although the foundation was made for use on TV/film, it's also great for every day use. I normally use this one when I want more coverage and need it to last throughout the day. I have combination skin though so after I apply it I need to set it with a powder..and then reapply throughout the day to keep it looking too oily.

My skin is pretty difficult with it comes to makeup. I have very sensitive skin and usually have to try a few different brands (for each type of product) before finding one that I like and also that my skin doesn't react to. As I had not used any Make Up For Ever foundation before this, I was a bit nervous when trying it..half expecting my skin to get irritated by it. But luckily, it didn't have any reaction to it at all. So it definitely is good for sensitive skin.

I really like the silky finish. It gives the skin a bit of a radiant look and provides excellent coverage. It also feels lightweight on the skin, is easy to blend/build up and absorbs quickly into the skin.

Make Up For Ever "Artist Shadow"

Make Up For Ever duo eye shadow
In addition to the Make Up For Ever "Artist Liner", the brand also sent me a duo of their "Artist Shadow" eye shadows to try out. They were released in celebration of the brand's 30th anniversary. The entire collection includes 210 different shades, so in other words - any colours you can think of to create any types of looks! I received the Iridescent Snow Gray (I-120) and Metallic Turquoise Blue (ME-232). These two shades complement each other perfectly and I love the silky/creamy texture of them.

Much like the eye liner, the eye shadows offer intense colour payoff and lasts all day. The formula is based on Pigment Atomization and Water-Blend Technology, which makes them super easy to apply and blend. Pigment Atomization is a technology used to maximize colour delivering up to 88% concentrated pigment (the highest on the market). Water-Blend Technology is a technology used to allow for the utmost blendability and even texture.

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow
The 210 shades are available in Matte, Satin, Metal, Iridescent and Diamond finishes which currently makes it the most extensive range available to consumers.

Make Up For Ever "Artist Liner"

Make Up For Ever Artist Liner Matte Black
I received the Make Up For Ever "Artist Liner" last week in Matte Black. I use black eyeliner on a daily basis (have done so for years) so I've tried just about every brand available in every form possible. My favourite is the retractable waterproof ones; they glide on easier than pencil liners, are easier to apply with precision than liquid/cream liners and lasts longer than non-waterproof ones. After using Make Up For Ever's Artist Liner this past week, it has become my new favourite as it has all those qualities. It isn't said to be waterproof, but it stays put throughout the day and offers bold, long-lasting colour that's also easy to take off at night.

The price is also very reasonable for the quality: $23 CDN / $19 USD at Sephora. In the past, I would always use Chanel's waterproof retractable eyeliner (for high-end) or Sephora Collection (for lower-end). Make Up For Ever's Artist Liner is close to the quality of Chanel's but without the $30+ price tag, so I would definitely repurchase this in the future.

Make Up For Ever Artist Liner M10 Matte Black
The liner is highly pigmented and glides on effortlessly to define and enhance eyes. The formula is silky and blendable, and with a super slim tip which makes it easy to apply. The ultra-creamy texture provides a bold, long-lasting line of intense colour or can be blended out for a smokey effect.

The Fall 2014 collection comes in a range of 15 vivid hues in 5 different finishes:

M-10: Matte Black
D-12: Diamond Black
S-14: Matte Anthracite Grey
