286. Penthouses and Residences at the Shangri-La

chandeliers Shangri-La
Shangri-La Toronto dining room
Here's most of the photos I took when I went to check out my friend's condo at the Shangri-La recently. We went to look at all the penthouses then explored the building a bit. I've said this a million times already but I want to live there so badly!! Such a beautiful dining room! I love the chandeliers

Bosk at Shangri-La
Forgot the name of the drink..it's some champagne cocktail. Was delicious!

This is called the Jewellery Box suite if I remember correctly. There's only one in the building. The whole unit sort of extends out from the building in the shape of a cube (I'm so bad with descriptions). It's mostly glass/windows all around. After you enter the front doors it's an entire 2-story wall of glass..

Then we went to the penthouses at the very top; 66th floor! Huge patios all around. As you can see they're still all under construction. Besides the CN Tower, I don't think I've ever been so high above the city before. The view is amazing up there!!

Shangri-La rooftop
Then we were brought to the actual rooftop! There's a few panels of glass with the rest being open-edge..a little bit scary but so cool. Didn't want to get too close to the edge as I'd probably fly off with a strong gust of wind.

Momofuku Toronto
After the impressive tour (which made us feel like peasants with our non-penthouse-less-impressive condo units) we went exploring some more. This is a patio on their 3rd (?) floor. Looking to Momofuku restaurant.

Hope you enjoyed this little photo-tour! I'll post the rest in another post. If you want to see more luxury penthouses, check out the post I made last year of the Ritz-Carlton penthouses ! From one of the photos there you can see the Shangri-La still under construction ;] Time to start saving up......

285. Random Photos of the Week

Shangri-La Toronto Bosk
Here's another random photo-post of what's been going on over the past week or so. I seem to be posting so much about the Shangri-La these days. The photo above is from their restaurant Bosk. I went earlier this week to see my friend's brand new condo (I'm so jel)! He bought one of the residences there..I was so excited to see it. We drank at the lobby bar, then he showed me his place, then we were given a tour of all the penthouse units, the rooftop, and then we went around exploring most of the building. I love it so much...I took a million photos that night so I'll devote an entire post to it next time. If I had to move to another place in the city the only place I'd rather live is the Shangri-La..wishful thinking.

284. Munich | HofbrÀuhaus

Munich Hofbrauhaus beer
The famous Oktoberfest is going on right now in Munich, so I thought I'd make another post of when I went there back in May. This was the first night - had dinner at Hofbrauhaus! This place is pretty touristy, but so fun. You sit at long communal tables, so it's easy to meet people sitting beside you. The only downside is waiting forever for a server. You must go if you visit the city. Amazing atmosphere!! It was really packed when I went, and I'm certain now for Oktoberfest it must be 100x crazier.

Check out this photo-post to see what Oktoberfest is all about. I guarantee you will want to go experience it for yourself someday after looking at their photos..

Hofbrauhaus schnitzel
Luckily I had a friend from Germany with me during the Munich days of my Eurotrip. Most restaurants there only had their menu in German! So my friend made all the decisions for me on what to order. I tried schnitzel for the first time in my life - loooooved it! It's a huge portion though. I ate like half of it and probably only finished off a quarter of my litre-sized Radler. Both were delicious though. I've yet to find a good place for schnitzel in Toronto..

Hofbrauhaus biergarten
Hofbrauhaus is HUGE. Here's one of the biergartens (I think most restaurants there have a biergarten)
