476. A Long Overdue Update / Recent Life

Beer Bistro salmon
Once again it's been so long since my last update. But my sporadic updating habits will be changing soon, as I have just planned a semi-last-minute vacation! I will not reveal where I am going yet but I'm sure some of you know already. This month has been one of the worst months for me..I haven't really been in the mood to update, plus I have been super busy with work. So I thought it was time for a vacation.

Here are some photos from the past few weeks of what I've been up to lately. BTW - a few weeks ago was my birthday! So some of these pics include what I did for it. Actually not anything too spacial lol since I'm not too big on birthdays.

In the photo above is the organic grilled salmon from Beer Bistro. I live right across from this place but pretty much all the times I went before, it was just for drinks (Fruli/Strawberry Beer in particular). I can't believe I never had an actual meal until that night. The salmon is soooo good. It's probably the best salmon I've ever had. They serve it on a bed of couscous (really delicious as well, and I usually don't like couscous) and a salad with really good dressing. I really want to go back for this.

Sharetea Bubble Tea
New obsession! I've always loved bubble tea but I only get them occasionally as there aren't any bubble tea shops close to me. I'm so happy to have recently found that Foodora delivers from Sharetea. It's so good. But expensive..(impulsively ordered several over the past two days/spent like $65 total..ahh. Craving it again now though as I type this.)

My birthday/Easter brunch with my dad at La Societe. I'm not sure what happened with this place but unfortunately it's not as good anymore. A few years ago I really loved it. One of the reasons why I enjoy blogging is to document my life and to look back on the past...such as in THIS POST you can see the exact same thing I ordered (2nd pic) looks a lot better. They even had way nicer plates and cups. That was from a few years ago.

475. Condo Hunting

Toronto
Here's an update on my condo hunting. I went to see a few units I liked a couple weeks ago. There's really just one building I'm interested in but for every unit there's always something wrong (the view, the layout, size, nice kitchen etc). I really want to find the perfect one but it's nearly impossible. Actually I really loved a few of the units here but the sizes are all the same or a bit smaller than my current place. & the kitchens here are all pretty small. One of the reasons I wanted to move was so I could cook more. At my current place I only have a "kitchenette" which doesn't have an oven which I want. Also I don't know if I should go for something larger. The view is really important to me as well. So a larger place with a nice view (for me, meaning high floor and view of the CN Tower) is really expensive. I think I will be ready to buy in a couple months so more units may be available by then. What I would really love is a loft. But those are always in bad far away areas. I'm pretty picky with area too lol. I really want to live closer to the harbour and not too far away from my current place because I love this area. We'll see what happens..
The photo above is taken in my favourite unit in terms of the view but the layout isn't the best. It's kind of narrow/rectangular and I'd want a more square-ish layout. There's another unit available that is my favourite which has everything I want, but it's also the most expensive. Well it's a huge corner unit with views of the lake (South), CN Tower (West), 2 bedrooms, super high floor, an actual walk-out balcony & a Juliet balcony etc. Plus the kitchen area is large enough so I could possibly renovate.

Here's a mix of some of the units I saw. I won't include photos of the kitchens, rooms, bathrooms, as you probably won't be interested lol. I just took those for reference for myself.

Ichikami hair products
I bought these Japanese hair products last week. The brand is called Ichikami. I've never tried them before..they are amazing! They smell sooo good (apricot). The store I got them had a LOT of different brands of Japanese and Korean hair products it was hard to choose which one to get. Their packaging were all so beautiful.

474. Snow

Toronto winter
Hi everyone! Sorry I've been such a bad blogger these days. I've been quite busy with work and life in general but mainly..nothing exciting to blog about unfortunately. I'm more active on my social media accounts if you want to follow me on those (Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat usernames are all Leftbanked). We've had such a warm snow-less winter this year here in Toronto. The first official "snowstorm" happened a few days ago. Although it wasn't much of a storm as you can see here. But I think this was the most snow we got this whole winter. Just a thin layer which melted away the next morning. I took some photos while it lasted:

Commerce Court snow
I really love my view and where I live. Even after 8 years here I'm not bored of it yet. The place I want to move to also has an amazing view (you may have seen a sneak peek on my Snapchat) but I'll post more about that in another post.

vegetable barley soup
I decided to make vegetable barley soup earlier this week. Actually I made two big pots and had it every day for like 5 days straight. It was pretty good I must say. I think I'll make it again this week.
