624. Blogmas Day 24 | Miku

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! On Christmas Eve, we first went to watch The Illusionists. It was such an amazing show and my first time watching a magic show like that in person. I definitely recommend it! It's on here in Toronto until January 7. Since I got back I've been watching magic trick videos every night and how they perform them hahah.
After that we had dinner reservations at Miku. It was my first time going to the one here. During the summer I went to the one in Vancouver too. Everything was really good.

Just received this in the mail today from my friend Samantha in Vancouver. So cute - thank you!!

This is the gift from my boyfriend..a LV notebook (Japanese edition that he got from there) & polaroid printer. If you saw it on my Instastory you might understand what the use would be for heheh. I really love it. :)

This is the last official post of Blogmas..but I will continue doing frequent updates. I think next month will be quite eventful!

608. Recent Life

Christmas is already just around the corner...
& here are some photos from the past couple weeks:

At King Taps last night for chats about life, drinks and of course our favourite nachos

The bibimbap at Earls is surprisingly pretty good. It doesn't really taste authentic of course but I liked it. I ordered the gingerbread cake afterwards which wasn't as good (now that my pumpkin phase is kind of fading, I am moving on to gingerbread)..it was really filling and sweet. I proceeded to slip into a food coma after that hahah.

Dinner with my sister at Katana. I usually only get the makimonos here but that night we also ordered the yaki udon. It was really good!! I would definitely get it again.

My first attempt at croquettes. They were so good!! I definitely need to make them again. After that I tried to do pumpkin croquettes which ended up being a huge disaster though..so unfortunate as I was really looking forward to eating them lol.

Dinner at Otto's Bierhalle! My friend and I came here one night but they were full with an hour wait, so we left for another place that night. Since then we had been wanting to go back (& as I started following them on Instagram, I've been wanting everything hahah). So last weekend we did and really loved it. The schnitzel was the best I've ever had in Toronto. They had a lot of other German things on the menu as well which I love! I really want to go back again.

I know in a previous post I was just saying how I post too many food pictures and that I would try to reduce it but obviously I haven't hahah. I also just realized that almost all the places I post about are within a 15min radius from my place. Except for Otto's Bierhalle. I should get out of my comfort zone more!

606. Recent Life

So I have one more post left from my Rockies Roadtrip...then I should get back to posting the rest from my Asia trip which was exactly one year ago!!! My Asia trip last year was Oct 14 to Nov 8 2016. Right now I still have 32 more posts to make from that lol. & I am determined to post it all. I think I will be going back to Asia (& Europe) within the next year so I should finish those posts before my next trip.

The weather here in Toronto has gotten really cold now. I started wearing my winter clothes and last night I even turned on the heat. I can't believe it's almost the Christmas season again. This year flew by so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was in Asia when it was already a year ago. & I still remember my Christmas and New Year's celebrations as if they just happened. It was a really good year for me (starting with my major renovations which I am still obsessed with and haven't fully completed yet) and right now I am probably the happiest I've ever been. I am excited for what is to come. It's funny how life can change so drastically and unexpectedly in such a short amount of time. More on this in a future post. It's still too early to do a "year in review" type of post lol.

Here are some photos from the past few weeks which I realize now consist of 90% food. I am going to make a conscious effort from now on to take less food pics and more of other things (like I used to do years ago on this blog)

I recently discovered Sud Forno which actually opened a few months ago, literally a 3 minute walk from my place, and I can't believe it took me so long to go. It's not my new food/restaurant addiction. I even came here one day when I wasn't even hungry but just for the sake of going since I love it so much. The food is really good and the decor is beautiful.

Something maybe a bit strange about me is that I really dislike chocolate. The only chocolate-y thing I LOVE is Torta Caprese. I first tried this when I went to Capri last year and my hotel gave me a delicious one. Since then I have tried to find a good one in Toronto but haven't been successful until I discovered Sud Forno's. It was amazing. Tastes a bit different from the one I had in Capri but it was still delicious and I will be going back quite often for it.

You may remember my pumpkin obsession which started at the beginning of Autumn. Tonight I finally made a pumpkin pasta which was I must say is really really good. I don't know why I didn't think it would be that good when I first started making it lol. It is probably my favourite pasta I've ever made. I made it with pumpkin puree, spinach, mushrooms, and a bit of coconut milk. I have a few more cans of pumpkin so trying to decide what to make next.
