537. Day 23 | Repulse Bay Beach

Repulse Bay Beach

Today we visited Repulse Bay Beach. It is one of my mom's favourite beaches where she went a lot when she was younger, and my first time going. As Hong Kong is a set of islands, there's numerous beautiful beaches there. I never visited Repulse Bay Beach before today..it's really nice there and today it was the perfect beach weather; 26 degrees and sunny (in November!!).

I've visited Hong Kong many times now and there's still several places I have never been. There is so much to see and do there. I keep adding to my list of places I would go all the time if I ever lived there. What I love most about Hong Kong everything is here: beautiful nature (lots of mountains and beaches) along with the quintessential city scene. Also all the best stores, food, and close proximity to a lot of other major cities. When I was younger, I really didn't like coming here on vacation. I gradually started to like the city more and more as I got older, and this time visiting I decided I want to try living here for some time in my life. Provided the living conditions would be at the level I have in Toronto (which would be difficult lol).

I don't know if I'd be able to live here permanently as it is quite a hectic city, but I would like to try for a year or two..or maybe just a few months as the weather is unbearable here some months. My sister actually was here for 2 years and just went back to Toronto (for good) earlier this afternoon. We kind of planned our trip this way so we could visit one last time before she left. Then my mom and I will be going back in a few days. I can't believe we've already been in Asia for 3 weeks now!! We did sooo much during this time it feels like a lot longer ago.

SOGO Hong Kong

In the evening we went to Causeway Bay for dinner with my aunt and walked around SOGO. As you can see..the streets are always still packed even at night. This is another thing I love about Hong Kong since I'm a night owl lol. We went to the downstairs food hall and I got one of these Croissant Taiyaki. I got it with red bean inside. It was so delicious!! Maybe one of my favourite snacks I tried in HK. If I lived there, I would definitely be eating (at least) one everyday.

  1. The croissants look very original. Oh, so you are considering moving to HK? I could see myself live there although I don't know if I could get used to the humidity...

    1. They were so good!!
I think it would be fun to live here but not really realistic for me...I also don't like the humidity here and all the places are very small (unless really expensive!). It is fun to come for vacation though.
